About this project

The Pioneer Parent Teacher Club recently hosted an inspiring and engaging AVID Literacy Night, aimed at promoting literacy skills and academic success among students. AVID, which stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination, is a program that focuses on college and career readiness, and this event brought its principles to life in a dynamic and interactive way.

The evening began with a warm welcome from PTC members, who emphasized the importance of literacy in students’ academic journey and future success. Parents, teachers, and students toured the school taking part in activities designed to enhance a love of reading.

interactive literacy stations set up throughout the school, where students could engage in hands-on activities related to reading, writing, and critical thinking. From book discussions to creative writing exercises, these stations offered something for everyone and encouraged students to explore their interests and expand their skills.

Throughout the evening, parents and students were also given valuable resources and tips for supporting literacy development at home. Whether it was creating a reading-friendly environment or incorporating literacy activities into daily routines, families left the event feeling inspired and equipped to foster a love of learning in their children.

The AVID Literacy Night was not only informative but also fun and engaging, thanks to the dedication and enthusiasm of the PTC members, teachers, and volunteers who organized the event. By promoting literacy skills and academic success, the Pioneer Parent Teacher Club is helping to lay the foundation for a bright and promising future for all students in our community.
